Willie Wesley Williams Sr., a native of Fernandina Beach, Florida, was born on September 21, 1939. Willie was a loving husband and devoted father. He graduated from Peck High School, Class of 1958 and retired from Anheuser-Busch in 1999. Willie devoted his life supporting his family, friends and community. He had a laugh and smile that would light up the world.
Willie married Rose Ann, his high school sweetheart in 1959 and from their union, they had 6 children. Willie loved the Lord and was an active member of Elm Street Church of God. Willie also supported various churches throughout the community including Trinity United Methodist Church. Willie devoted his retirement time supporting his children, grandchildren and everyone he could.
Willie transitioned to his Heavenly home on Friday, February 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Wesley (Tia) Williams Jr.; father, Robert Williams Sr.; mother, Jessie Williams (Kirtsey); three sisters, Laura Armstrong, Celestine Rawls and Ira Mae Cribb; and a brother, Robert Williams, Jr.
Willie leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Rose Ann Williams of Fernandina Beach; children, Tanya Massey (David), Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Winfield (Michael), Atlanta, Georgia, Deirdre Smith (Alonzo), West Palm Beach, Florida, Keith Williams (Raeann), Grand Rapids, Michigan and Keisha Lopez (Alberto), Fernandina Beach, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 10 great– grandchildren; 4 Godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and very good friends
The visitation will be held at Elm Street Church of God, Fernandina Beach, Friday, 5 – 7PM. Homegoing Services will be held at River of Praise Worship Center, Yulee, Florida,Saturday, February 10,2018 11AM. The internment will immediately follow at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
