Obituary for Sammie Washington III

Sammie Washington III was born to Sammie Washington, Jr. and Sharon Elaine Washington on May 12, 1974, in Saint Augustine, Florida. Sammie relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he attended schools in the Duval County System until graduating from Florida Community College of Jacksonville, where he received his High School Diploma.

Sammie was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Dr. William Lavant, Pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Sweetwater. He later rededicated his life to Christ in 1998 and became a member of Zarephath Tabernacle, under the leadership of Apostle James Brant. He was employed with Tiresoles of Jacksonville until his illness caused him to resign in April of 2017.

Sammie passed away on February 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Sammie Washington, Jr.

Sammie leaves to cherish memories: his mother and stepfather, Sharon E. Dicks (Alonza); two children, Kahali S. Washington and Satajah A. Washington; four sisters, Stephanie L. Dean (Scott), Jerri Plummer, Twanya Dicks and Audrea Q. Dicks (Terrence); aunts and uncles, Vivan Powell (Cleveland), Harold Strawter (Brenda), Carolyn Miller (John), Marilyn Benitez, Richard Strawter (Rhonda), Jerry Strawter, Gloria Jean Hill, Phyllis Bush (Marvin) and Donald Washington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special and devoted girlfriend, Felicia Shider; close childhood friends, Arthur Mealer III, Rudy Mealer, Bruce Jefferson and Jeremy Tinsley.
