Obituary for Geno Geovarnetti Hampton Sr.

Geno Geovarnetti  Hampton Sr.
Geno Geovarnetti Hampton, Sr. was born on November 11, 1958 Memphis, Tennessee to Samella Hampton Wallace and R.C Hampton. Geno attended Springfield College where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Services and a Master’s of Science Degree in Leadership and Organizational Management. Geno was the CO-Founder of North/South Florida Human Services, Inc. from 2000 until his passing. He was recognized as “Counselor of the Year” in 1999.

Geno was ordained as a Deacon on February 8, 2004 and served faithfully for ten years at Light of the World Christian Church. He later became a faithful member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor H. B Charles Jr., until his passing.

Geno will be especially remembered for his quick wit, upbeat spirit, sense of humor and generosity. Geno loved to travel, he ventured to Mexico, Canada, London, Paris, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and throughout the United States. He was an avid sports fan, two of his favorites teams were the Orlando Magic and the Green Bay Packers.

Geno passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Hampton.

Geno leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Sonya Hampton; five children, Geno Hampton, Jr. (Jenisha), Summer Hampton, Marcus Grayson, Monte Bush and Skye Glover; parents, Samella Hampton Wallace and R. C. Hampton; three siblings, Donald Hampton, Sheila Lofties (Clinton) and Jay Wallace II; grandchildren, Jaidyn Glover, Destiny Rodgers, Desimen Rodgers, Darius Hampton, Darneshia Hampton, Lakisha Hampton, Tamesha Hampton, Anthony Clark, Marcus Harper, Mariah Grayson, and Jenesis Grayson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service for Geno Geovarnetti Hampton, Sr. will be held 11AM FRIDAY, March 2nd, 2018 at the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1118 West Beaver St. The viewing will be from 9AM until the time of service.
