Obituary for Gloria Johnson

Gloria Johnson was born November 17, 1944 to Julius Cinyon and Linnie S. Johnson in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local city’s schools graduating from New Stanton Sr. High School. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Brooklyn, New York where she lived for 23 years. There she attended New York Community College and St. Mary’s College. During the course of her stay in New York, she worked at the African Pavilion N.Y. World Fair as a Cashier, A & S Department store, where she did Alterations, New York Dock Railway as an Operator and was soon promoted to an Accountant Controller.

In 1988, Gloria relocated back to Jacksonville, Florida where her extraordinary talent as an Accountant provided her to be successful in her field. She worked for Sharon Robinson-Grant, CPA Tax Services and Accountant for the Community Rehabilitation Center (CRC) until her retirement.

Gloria accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of Bishop Frank Edward Cook and Pastor Mack Ritter, Holy Trinity COGIC, Brooklyn, New York there she worked as the Church Accountant. In 1988 Gloria joined Greater Faith Bible Church known today as New Beginnings New Mercies Kingdom Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Overseer Billy G. Brock, Jr. where she presently served until her passing. She served as the Financial Leader, Youth Director, Director of the Steps of Faith and Church Mother. She touched so many lives girls, boys, young and old.

She was affectionately known as “Aunt Gloria” to many. Gloria Johnson completed her earthly journey on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Julius Cinyon and Mrs. Linnie S. Johnson; sister, Ethel M. Owens; brother, Alton E. Johnson; nephew, Walter Randall; brother in laws, Melvin Hamm and Billy G. Brock, Sr.,

Gloria leaves to treasure and honor her memories is god son, Billy X. Brock; god daughter, Gloria Kamma (Rasool); sisters, Linnie J. Brock, Janie Hamm, Barbara E. Johnson; brothers, Willie L. Johnson, Jr., Donnell J. Brock (Delphine); devoted niece, Felecia Johnson; devoted grandniece, Keysa McIntyre (Jeffery), adopted daughter, Benita Mobley and a host of nieces. Nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
