Obituary for Maxjulien Augustus Rowland

Print
A great man, father, and friend to many who loved and admired him. Max was our Super Hero of hope, encouragement, motivation, and promise for a better generation and a better life.

MaxJulien Augustus Rowland better known as “Max” was born in Utica, NY on May 18, 1979 in Saint Elizabeth Hospital.

Max was full of life and love for everyone. His smile and positive personality was like a ray of sunshine that glowed and was so inviting and warm every time you talked to him. He was given the gift of life and love, and he spread that giving spirit to everyone he met and all that knew him, would tell you that.

Max was raised in the Church of Christ from the age of 7 and he was baptized at the age of 12. He faithfully served in the Church with his father and brother every Sunday. Max was also very active with the youth ministry in sport competitions and skits and plays. Max rededicated his life to Christ before he passed and we are so thankful that God granted him the time he needed to get right.

Max attended middle school and high school first at Englewood Southside but graduated from Ribault High School in 1996, where he played football and was a part of the ROTC program. Max was avid sportsman and was also part of the swim team at Englewood High School.

After graduation, Max enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served for 4 years. Once Max returned home from the military, he soon enrolled at Edward Waters College while working with Buggs Transportation. He later decided to attend Tulsa Welding School.

Max learned many lessons along the way in his life and knew he wanted great things for his new family. So, he decided Houston, TX was offered better pay, better jobs, and a better environment for his growing sons.
Max moved to Houston, TX about 10 years ago, where many doors of opportunity became available to him and his family and he continued to grow there. He started as a welder and soon realized he could do much better, so he opened up his own trucking business. He really loved Houston. His dream of home ownership and business ownership became true. He called his brothers, uncles, and cousins and told everyone to get their trucking license. He never stopped talking about the trucking business day and night, that he already passed on to his oldest son, Izell.

Max took care of his family and anyone else that needed help. He wanted everyone to be successful. We could go on and on about our son, but we know he is Trucking through Heaven with the Lord now and getting the rest he needs.

Max departed this life on October 20, 2018 at the age of 39. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Gordon Rowland and grandmother, Barbara Rowland. He leaves his parents, Cebron and Stella Webb; Toymikia Williams-Rowland and 6 children: MaxJulien Augustus Rowland Jr., Zion Rowland, Talia Rowland, Izell Cummings, Tareina Cummings, and Kevin Cummings; siblings, Cornell Webb (Tisha), Cebron Khama Webb, III (Shardenae), Nefertiti Webb, and Gordon Rowland, Jr.; grandparents, Irene and Nathan Taylor and Jean Marie Jones; uncles, Thomas Taylor, Clyde Taylor (Lauren), Willie Taylor (Kathy), Keith Webb (Angela), Stanley Rowland, and Douglas Rowland; aunts, Jamilah Noble (Tony), Irabelle Strong, Patricia Vance (Jesse), Linda Williams (Joe), Kathy Rowland, Adrianne Rowland, and Sharon Jones; best friend since 9th grade, Alec Hall, Bernadette Crutcher, Barbette Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Maxjulien Augustus Rowland passed away Saturday, October 20th, 2018. Arrangements in Care of: Funerals by T.S. Warden, 904-765-1234
