Robert was born on August 23, 1942 to Benjamin Williams and Mary E. Williams in Jacksonville, Florida. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized. He attended the local schools in Duval County, graduating from Matthew W. Gilbert, Class of 1961; he also attended Edward Waters College. He has five sons and one daughter.

Robert departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Williams and Mary E. Williams.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Jacqueline Wilson; sons, Robert Williams, Jr., Michael Williams (Nubko), Maurice Williams (Shirley), Ersell Williams, Rodney Williams and Carlos Taylor (Hope); sixteen grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Emmett Williams; other relatives and friends.
