Annette Marie Grant was born in Duval County on July 20, 1944, to Mother Ella Grant and the late Alphonso Grant. She confessed Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Reverend Rogers and attended schools at Gilbert High School. Annette departed this life on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jamies and George Grant. God is completely sovereign, more powerful than all others. Infinitely wise and loves perfectly; therefore, memories will be cherished by her devoted mother, Ms Ella Grant; sisters: Eleanor Grant, Sharon Mitchell (Charles), Valerie Johnson, caretaker, Cassandra Harvey (Jerry), Hope White (Barry) and Evelyn Harden; brothers: Michael Brown and Kevin Brown (Nikki); sister-in-law, Louise Grant; a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends; devoted cousins: Jean Williams and Yolanda Shorts; devoted friends: Bettey Holmes and Richard Holmes. Lou Ella Reaves Royal Jones, age 104 went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 10, 2024. She was born in Ocilla, Georgia (Irving County) on December 15, 1919 to the late Samuel and Cora Lee Reaves. Lou Ella retired from Sears and Roebuck after many years of employment. She was a Christian and longtime member of Northside Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Jones; two brothers: Cohen Kaine Reaves and Sammie Reaves; four sisters, Arie Ann Willingham, Corine Davis, Queen Ester Anderson and Irene Davis; one niece Betty J. Hunter and two nephews, Howard C. Wilcox and Samuel R. Davis. She leaves to cherish her memories one son Alton Wayman Royal (Louise) of Tallahassee, FL, two granddaughters, Natalie Yvette Royal and Nadia YaVon Royal of Tallahassee, FL; one stepson, Kerwin Jones of Okinawa, Japan; one sister, Sarah Horne (James) of Jacksonville, FL; three nieces, Ellen D. Sanders (Bobby) and Marva I. Cuthpert (Ronald) of Jacksonville, FL; and F. Mr. Daniel Dopson Jr. affectionately called “Danny Boy” a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida was born here on December 26, 1970 to Daniel and Patricia Dopson. Early in life Daniel was a member of King Solomon United Baptist Church. He attended the Public Schools of Duval County. Daniel worked several jobs, but the main one was being a mechanic at Midas for many years. Daniel departed this earthly life on December 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alma Bevel; granddaughter, Dankerie Dopson; aunts, Lorine Dopson and Queen Dopson King.
