My Mother and Timothy's Mother were the best of church friends when we we growing up, so we have many wonderful church and school memories to cherish. We stayed in church and I remember being in prayer meeting on Friday nights with our loved ones. Little did we know at the time that these prayers and obedience to our praying Mothers would lead to such a remarkable life of honor and service. I even went to Dorsey along with my husband who was a close friend of Timothy. My husband, Michael Webster, attended 42nd Street elementary school with Timothy. We are so blessed to have known such a gentle, loving person. Our prayers are with the family.

I remember TM3 Timothy Cohen as a quiet soft spoken young man and shipmate. We were about the same age when se served together on the USS Briscoe in the early 80's, we were both young men then. We were both in the same division, me in SONAR and he in Torpedos. When you look back in life there are some people who stick out in memory, and you wish you gotten to know them better. That was Tim, I wish we had served together longer. I will always remember him as a friendly,funny and hard working shipmate that I am proud to call a friend. Basketballs may breathe a sigh of relief now that they won't be shot out of the torpedo tubes... To his family; Tim was a good man. I pray God will bring you comfort in your time of loss. I am glad to have known him...

lisa, you are a survivor!!! i know you have asked the question why, why, why... we all feel tim was too young for us to say good-bye... he wanted to grow old with you by his side... i remember the day you became his beautiful bride... almost 16 years you were married to this wonderful man... with GOD'S help you will make it, i know you can... when you were a teenage you lost your dad... it made you very sorrowful and painfully sad... 14 years later, the LORD took a close relative again... as much as you loved your brother, you knew the healing had to begin... 10-12 years ago, you had to be strong for tim when his mother passed... that's something you never get over, it just last and last... a few years ago, GOD was there for you when your young granddaughter was called... she didn't live long, she left you before she learned to crawl... my sympathy and condolences to you on the passing of your spouse... tim not being here, leaves a big void in the house... i know your heart is heavy and the weight seems unbearable.. pray to GOD, read HIS word the psalms and parables... through GOD you are strengthened and a survivor... remember, GOD is still in charge, HE is the pilot and the driver... tim always had his shining armor on to show you that he was your knight... being married to you was his great joy and a big delight... continue on the CHRISTIAN road, which you know is right... when you feel weak, GOD is there morning, noon and night... love, your brother, todd

here 2day, gone tomorrow...life is filled with such deep sorrow...GOD gave tim to us to borrow...tim served his country for over 20 years...GOD will wipe away all our tears...tim was one of a kind...he would go out his way for you & wouldn't mind...the body goes back to the earth & the spirit returns to GOD...tim had to leave so he could join the HEAVENLY squad...this is something we all have to do...for we all have a time limit curfew...it starts from the time of conception...& there is no exception...the powerful, small, famous & great...will all meet this kind of fate....tim, you will be missed everyday...GOD will continue to strengthened us, is what i pray...enjoy life & serve the master...to avoid a final disaster...live for JESUS, our eternal PASTOR!!!!

In the summer of 99', we celebrated with our father's side of the family in Los Angeles, California. We were so happy that all of the Cohen kids were able to celebrate together with our mother before she went home to be with Jesus on September 11, 1999.

I still remember the summers of 71,72 and 73. Going to Disneyland with my mom and brother and staying at the Cohens house. So many memories--praying in the closet, eating string beans that were crispy. But most of all i remember the time i spent with my cousin Timmy. We were the same age and always played catch up during that time. It always amazed me about how manly but soft-spoken Timmy was. I remember when we graduated and i tried to talk Timmy out of going in the Navy because i thought he was too kind and he would get hurt. He proved me wrong, loved what he did, and, lived a happy life. I regret the times i haven't connected with my family and that our children don't really know each other. But i love them just as much today as i did during those summers. I was looking forward to seeing Timmy and talking to him more than any other person although i love them all. I had recently received an email from him asking if i was going. Timothy Cohen i love you dearly and i will be missing you always. Your cousin Robin

We didn't realize until the ceremony begain that this was a one-man show. The entire service was for fellow officers and the Commander to pay tribute to Timothy for his 30 years of service. We were impressed. We were so impressed!

In 2000, we hosted the Knox-Miller Family Reunion in Los Angeles. We had such a great time that we are hosted in again this year. Timothy was working so hard to make sure that we have all the family history that was also documented by photos. He was also taking charge of all the music that would be played at the reunion. He was so excited about this reunion being a success that he would spend hours researching family history and locating just the right music. He loved his family and it showed in his dedication. We will miss you but know that your memories will live on.

We never went to Sears to take family pictures but my father always had us line and take pictures with his Polaroid Instant Camera. We thought were big shots because we took turns "Shaking our Polaroid pictures" long before Outkast make it fashionable.
