Today it has been 8 months from the day mama left this earthly plain; She now lives in a place that is eternal in the heavens. The love for mama will always linger in my heart forever, just as the sweet aroma lingers in the air from the fragrance of a rose or sweet perfume. I love this precious lady and miss her presence, oh so much! I truly know she was one of the greatest women and mothers in the world. My relationship with her grew so tenderly and lovingly during the last moments of her life. When mama first moved in my home with me, we spent together, enjoying rides to her doctor's appointments, talking, eating, laughing and praying in the midnight hours were special moments spent with her. Mama was getting a bit weary, yet God was preparing her to see the Lord, her saviour & king, which makes me so happy to know that I will see her once again, just as I told her so before her final departure from this earth, I bowed down and said to her in these very words "mama we all love you and I will see you again in heaven, as she kept her eyes on me, I sing the song to her, Yes Jesus loves Me for the bible tells me so. She later was transported by God's angelic host into the very presence of the Almighty God, the Lord of host. Each day has been different since she left, and to be honest it has also been difficult in living without her. My strength has been my hope in the Lord, for he has said "weep not as those who have no hope, for your mama is in an ever lasting eternal home, filled with mansions of my own. Now I feel much better now, but sometimes I can't help but cry, simply because I knew she had to die in order to live, just as Jesus wept when Lazarus died, then Lazarus arose once again as Jesus said Lazarus come forth. Mama too will come forth as she rises again from death to life. I miss my mama so very much, yet in my heart we stay in touch. The love I have for her will live with so many lasting memories that are filled with her presence. These pictures are engraved in frames that will remain forever on the walls of my heart. I miss mama's funny jokes, her cornbread, dressing, bread pudding, collard greens, grits, fish and cakes. Her recipes of her home cooked meals, remain and are still being prepared in the kitchen by those who observed her carefully as she cooked. Some of us would even call her up on the phone for Maggie's dynamite home cooked ingredients. Tisha can cook mama's dressing & greens that taste like mama stirred them up herself, Denise can bake every cake that mama taught her how, and sho nuff those chocolate, pound and caramel cakes, were some of mama's best. I can bake sweet potatoe pies like my mama, Lisa could fry chicken like mama, and Gail and Denise always knew how to cook good meals to eat, just like mama knew best, even though the kitchen really wasn't my expertise, I learned something special from her. Mama taught all her girls an art, yet something special we can always carry with us and use as lessons learned. Mama taught me and my sisters the lesson and art of true nurture; how to be good mothers to our children like she was to her own. Mama Maggie was a hero , and the matriarch of our family. She was a wonderful mother & grandmother. Mama loved her children & grandchildren immensely. She always said for God so loved the world that he gave something, and this was his only begotten son. Mama said when someone loves you they will always be willing to give you something, and that is the gift of love. Mama also said to me a month before she passed away, when I asked her a question about her health, she said "God's Grace is sufficient for me". Mama knew more than what it looked like or what it appeared to be. So as the time grew shorter and nearer for her to leave, I then realized she had to go, but even after she left, I learned a valuable lesson about time that life is like a vapour, here today then gone tomorrow, I learned that time is so precious and should never be taken for granted. Also learning how important it is to love, give, forgive then allow God to heal anything that is broken. Never let the sun go down on your wrath. Love those who God has placed in your life until the Lord calls them home. Earth has no sorrow that God can not heal. Death has no victory, nor sting within the grave. So as my mama rest in the eternal presence of God, we await that eternal day, when all the saints get to gathering home, oh it will be a great & glorious day. I will see mama once again. So to all of our family, friends and those who loved mama dearly, please don't cry, be sad or mourn, rejoice and be glad as we continually thank God we have loving memories that will last, for the memory of mama will last forever and never depart. Mama is living in our hearts, she's absent from the body, but she indeed is present with the Lord. The only way you will see her again, is that you give your heart and life to Jesus Christ, you then must be born again! Precious Mama Maggie, the memory of you will last in my heart and this family's heart forever, for you are eternally loved!
