Obituary for Berthenia Hart (Ambrose)

Berthenia Hart (Ambrose)
Life has a beginning and an ending for everyone. We are allowed to experience family and friends relationships, adventures, accomplishments, surprises, and disappointments before the book of life is closed.

Berthenia (Bert) Ambrose Hart was the eldest child of Samuel and Elglade Raines. She was born on October 21, 1932 and reared in Marion County. She attended Marion County Public Schools and graduated from Howard Academy High School in Ocala, Florida.

As life progressed, Berthenia met and married Mitchell Hart of Orange Springs, Florida (deceased). From that union two sons were born, Lester Erwin Hart and Mitchell Jerome Hart (deceased). Later she moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. There she lived, worked, and acquired some dedicated friends. They traveled with her to various parts of God’s world and to visit with her family yearly. During one of those trips to Florida, she heard and obeyed the gospel on January 1, 1986, at Northside Church of Christ, under the leadership of Minister Charlie McClendon in Jacksonville, Florida. When she returned to Bridgeport, Connecticut she united with Trumbull Church of Christ where she was faithful in attendance and service.

Her longevity of employment was with the Schick Razor Company, Milford, Connecticut. She was a dedicated and valued employee for 20 years. After reaching this milestone in her life’s journey, she returned to her native home, Marion County, City of Ocala to enjoy the rest of her life with family and friends.
Berthenia united in fellowship with the Woodland Place Church of Christ family under the leadership of Minister Victor Jarrell and remained faithful in attendance and service until the call from her Heavenly Father from labor to rest.

Berthenia’s loving, caring, support for so many will be missed, especially by her family: sons, Lester Hart (Rose) of Ocala, Florida, Charlie Bernard Johnson and Riki Gardener, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Matthew Keith Morgan (Vanessa) of Menifee, California; sister, Poncianna Jackson (Louis) of Jacksonville, Florida; brother-in-law, Kermit Hart of Chicago, Illinois; grandsons, Darynel Richmond (Aisha) of Ocala, Florida, Fredrick Richmond (Niki) of Crofton, Maryland, Mitchell Hart, Jr. (Kristina) of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Paris Steven of Ocala, Florida, Jonathan, Marc, Joshua, and Myles Menifee of California; granddaughters, Charity and Hart, Rickiah Gardner, Tamero Barnes, and Amero Barnes, all of Ocala, Florida, Tonya Cannone (wife of the late Lester Hart Jr.) of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Marvella, Candi, and Crystal Morgan of San Diego, California; eleven great-grandchildren; special mentioning of dear friends, Chesterlene Scott of Ocala, Florida, Pearl Swillings, Lilly Bendolph, Rosa and Benny Hill all of Bridgeport, Connecticut; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service for Berthenia Hart will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 11th, 2016 at the Woodland Place Church of Christ 1921 NE 35th Street Ocala, Florida 34479. The visitation will be 12:30 - 2PM , Sunday, December 11th, 2016 at the Woodland Place Church of Christ 1921 NE 35th Street Ocala, Florida 34479. Interment in Sparr Community Cemetery.
